Cone Crushers are mainly used in crushing medium to very hard material with high silca content. The advantage of the Kawasaki cones is it has a reduction ratio of 12-1 which is second to none. Cones can take material up to -400 lump size and reduce to as low as -8mm depending on which concave is fitted in the crushing chamber.
Impact Crushers are mainly used in crushing soft to medium material with low silica content.
